About the Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President of Product Strategy to define product direction, shape portfolio strategy, and translate market opportunities into sustainable product growth. This executive role is responsible for establishing a clear product vision, evaluating market trends and customer needs, prioritizing strategic investments, and aligning product development with broader organizational objectives.

The Vice President of Product Strategy will work closely with the CEO, executive leadership, Product Management, Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, and Operations. This leader will establish strategic product priorities while ensuring teams have the insights, frameworks, and resources necessary to execute effectively.

The ideal candidate combines deep product expertise with strong commercial judgment, customer insight, analytical thinking, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing cross-functional teams, and making high-value product investment decisions in a rapidly evolving technology environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the organization’s long-term product strategy and vision.
  • Translate corporate objectives into product portfolio priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify new product opportunities, market segments, and potential sources of growth.
  • Establish product investment priorities based on customer value, market potential, business impact, and organizational capabilities.
  • Lead portfolio-level product planning and prioritization.
  • Develop product strategy frameworks, roadmaps, business cases, and investment recommendations.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate strategy into executable product plans.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to align product positioning with customer and market requirements.
  • Establish product performance metrics and monitor strategic outcomes.
  • Analyze product adoption, revenue contribution, customer feedback, retention, and market performance.
  • Lead strategic reviews of existing products and determine opportunities for expansion, optimization, repositioning, or retirement.
  • Support pricing, packaging, monetization, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Evaluate partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic product opportunities.
  • Present product strategy, portfolio recommendations, and investment decisions to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing product strategy and product management leaders.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or advanced technical/business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in product management, product strategy, business strategy, or technology leadership.
  • Significant experience leading product strategy for SaaS, technology, digital products, or complex software platforms.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise-level product strategies.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, market analysis, customer research, and competitive intelligence.
  • Experience with product portfolio management, pricing, monetization, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate product investment decisions.
  • Proven experience working with executive leadership and senior cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, presentation, and strategic decision-making capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop senior product professionals.

Job Function

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $350,000 – $525,000 annually, including base compensation, performance-based incentives, and potential long-term incentive participation, based on product leadership experience, portfolio scope, industry expertise, organizational complexity, and overall qualifications.
