Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server, Linux, and cloud-based infrastructure across enterprise environments.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management services.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Intune, and related services.
- Monitor server health, system availability, storage utilization, and infrastructure performance to ensure maximum uptime.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
- Administer cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement security best practices including endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, patch management, privileged access management, and multi-factor authentication.
- Manage enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity planning.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or infrastructure automation tools.
- Support enterprise monitoring platforms and proactively resolve system performance issues.
- Collaborate with Network Engineering to maintain secure connectivity across corporate and remote environments.
- Manage endpoint deployment, device lifecycle management, software distribution, and configuration management.
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology refresh initiatives, cloud migration projects, and system implementations.
- Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, disaster recovery documentation, and infrastructure diagrams.
- Provide Tier III technical support for complex infrastructure incidents and escalated service requests.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, regulatory requirements, and IT governance policies.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend infrastructure improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive systems administration experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Strong experience administering Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, or Nutanix.
- Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
- Familiarity with endpoint management solutions including Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or Jamf.
- Experience working with enterprise monitoring tools, ITSM platforms, and ticketing systems.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, identity security, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Server+, Security+, or RHCSA are highly preferred.

Working Conditions
- Fully remote position based within the United States.
- Standard Monday–Friday business schedule with participation in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
- Frequent collaboration with distributed IT teams using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, and enterprise management platforms.
- Primarily computer-based work involving prolonged use of infrastructure management, cloud, and monitoring tools.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for scheduled maintenance, upgrades, or emergency response.
- Periodic travel for team meetings, training, or corporate technology events may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package: $120,000 – $165,000 annually, based on experience, technical expertise, certifications, geographic location within the United States, and overall qualifications.
