The Scientist, Software Engineer will collaborate closely with Research Scientists, Product Management, Data Science, Machine Learning Engineers, DevOps, Quality Assurance, and Executive Leadership to transform research concepts into production-ready software. This position will contribute to algorithm development, software architecture, experimentation, system optimization, and continuous technology innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications supporting research and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with research teams to translate scientific concepts into production-ready software solutions.
  • Develop algorithms, computational models, simulations, and data processing pipelines.
  • Design secure, maintainable, and high-performance software architectures.
  • Build backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, scientific computing, or research and development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Java, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience developing scalable software, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
  • Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, computational modeling, and software architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and large-scale data processing technologies.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $220,000 – $335,000 annually, based on software engineering expertise, scientific research experience, technical specialization, industry background, and overall qualifications.
