The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for facility infrastructure, critical utilities, preventive maintenance, environmental health and safety coordination, contractor management, workplace services, and capital projects while ensuring uninterrupted business continuity across production, laboratory, and corporate operations.
This position requires an individual capable of balancing strategic planning with operational execution. The Facility Manager will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to ensure facilities consistently support business objectives while maintaining world-class standards for safety, reliability, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all facility operations, including building infrastructure, mechanical systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, HVAC, utilities, and grounds maintenance.
- Develop long-term facility management strategies that align with organizational growth initiatives and future operational requirements.
- Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize operational disruptions.
- Oversee facility budgets, operating expenditures, capital investments, and long-range asset replacement planning.
- Lead facility modernization initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, energy optimization projects, and workplace improvement programs.
- Manage third-party contractors, engineering consultants, service providers, and construction vendors while ensuring contract compliance and service excellence.
- Ensure all facilities operate in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, building codes, environmental regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Partner with Environmental Health & Safety teams to strengthen workplace safety initiatives, emergency preparedness planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor building automation systems, energy consumption metrics, and infrastructure performance using advanced facility management technologies.
- Coordinate space planning initiatives that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and employee productivity.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance operations, asset reliability, work order completion, vendor performance, and operational efficiency.
- Lead business continuity planning related to facility infrastructure, utility redundancy, disaster recovery, and emergency response.
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Validation teams to ensure facilities consistently support regulated production environments.
- Oversee commissioning activities for new equipment installations, facility expansions, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, reliability-centered maintenance, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Develop sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction.
- Present facility performance reports, capital project updates, and operational metrics to executive leadership.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing maintenance, engineering, and facility operations teams through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive facilities management experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, or highly regulated industrial environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex facility operations across large commercial or manufacturing campuses.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, clean utilities, electrical infrastructure, fire protection systems, compressed air, chilled water, boilers, and critical facility operations.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets.
- Proven expertise overseeing facility construction, renovations, infrastructure modernization, and capital improvement programs.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), building automation systems (BAS), and enterprise asset management platforms.
- Experience developing preventive maintenance strategies and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and workplace safety standards.
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated manufacturing environments, GMP standards, and quality management systems is highly preferred.
- Exceptional vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives within fast-paced operational environments.
- Professional certifications such as CFM, FMP, PMP, LEED, or Six Sigma are highly desirable.

Compensation & Benefits
