About the Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Project Management to lead enterprise-wide project delivery, portfolio governance, program execution, and project management standards across the organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
The Director of Project Management will establish project management frameworks, oversee complex portfolios, develop high-performing project teams, and provide executive-level visibility into project performance, risks, resources, and financial outcomes. This leader will work closely with Executive Leadership, Finance, Operations, Technology, Product, Human Resources, and business stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into successful initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings extensive project and portfolio leadership experience, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs. Success in this role requires exceptional leadership, governance, communication, financial management, and strategic planning capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise project management strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead the Project Management Office and establish standardized project governance frameworks.
- Oversee a portfolio of strategic, operational, technology, and transformation initiatives.
- Establish project methodologies, standards, templates, processes, and performance metrics.
- Partner with executive leadership to prioritize projects based on business value, risk, resources, and strategic importance.
- Monitor project scope, schedules, budgets, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
- Establish portfolio reporting and executive dashboards that provide visibility into project performance.
- Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead project governance reviews and executive steering committee meetings.
- Develop and manage project management budgets and resource allocation strategies.
- Mentor, coach, and develop project managers and program leaders.
- Drive continuous improvement across project delivery practices and organizational processes.
- Support change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, vendors, and strategic partners.
- Ensure projects comply with organizational policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Operations, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive project management experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing project portfolios, PMOs, programs, or complex enterprise initiatives.
- PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects and strategic transformation programs.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Lean, and hybrid project management methodologies.
- Experience managing significant project budgets, resources, risks, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency with project management and portfolio management technologies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, leadership, and organizational capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package: $275,000 – $390,000 annually, based on project management leadership experience, organizational scale, industry expertise, portfolio complexity, certifications, and overall qualifications.
