About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Information Security organization and play a critical role in protecting enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, and digital assets from evolving cyber threats. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions that strengthen the organization’s overall cybersecurity posture while ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of business-critical information.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work closely with Security Operations, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Software Development, DevOps, Risk Management, Compliance, and Executive Technology Leadership to develop proactive security strategies, implement advanced security technologies, and support enterprise-wide cyber resilience initiatives. You will participate in security architecture design, vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response, cloud security, identity management, and security automation projects while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Develop and enhance security architectures that protect enterprise infrastructure, applications, networks, and data.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, security risk analyses, and remediation planning.
  • Monitor security events, investigate threats, and support incident response activities.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and email security platforms.
  • Implement identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Software Engineering teams to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Conduct security reviews of enterprise applications, cloud platforms, APIs, and third-party technologies.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, technical documentation, and implementation procedures.
  • Support cloud security initiatives across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Perform penetration test remediation, configuration reviews, and security hardening activities.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory standards, and internal governance requirements.
  • Automate security monitoring, reporting, and operational processes where appropriate.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, business continuity initiatives, and cyber resilience programs.
  • Research emerging cyber threats and recommend technologies that strengthen enterprise security capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and security awareness support across the organization.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, information security, or infrastructure security.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security, endpoint security, identity management, and security operations.
  • Experience securing Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, EDR/XDR technologies, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and security monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7.
  • Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks including NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, SOC 2, and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, GSEC, CCSP, GIAC, or Azure/AWS Security certifications are highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting incident response, digital forensics, or threat hunting initiatives is preferred.

Strategic Support

The Cybersecurity Engineer serves as a strategic technology partner responsible for protecting enterprise infrastructure, applications, and digital assets through advanced security engineering, proactive risk management, and continuous security improvement initiatives. This role collaborates with Information Security, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Risk Management, Compliance, and Executive Technology Leadership to implement scalable cybersecurity solutions that support business resilience and regulatory compliance.

Through security architecture, threat detection, vulnerability management, cloud security, and security automation, this position directly contributes to organizational resilience, operational continuity, and long-term digital trust.


Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment based in Austin, Texas.
  • Standard Monday through Friday business schedule with participation in an on-call security rotation when required.
  • Collaborative enterprise technology environment supporting mission-critical systems and cloud platforms.
  • Occasional after-hours support during security incidents, infrastructure upgrades, and emergency response activities.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $210,000 – $310,000 annually, based on cybersecurity expertise, technical certifications, cloud security experience, and overall qualifications.
