About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Associate Software Engineer to join our software development organization and contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable software applications.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, designers, and technical leaders to build reliable software solutions and continuously improve existing systems. This role is well suited for an early-career engineer who is eager to strengthen technical capabilities, learn modern development practices, and take increasing ownership of software projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications and services.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement technical solutions.
  • Translate product requirements and technical specifications into working software.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging.
  • Investigate software defects and implement corrective solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate engineering feedback.
  • Contribute to API development, database integration, and application functionality.
  • Maintain technical documentation and development standards.
  • Use version-control systems such as Git to manage source code.
  • Assist with application deployments and production support activities.
  • Monitor application performance and help resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve defects.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Research new technologies and development practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and development tools.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 0–3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, C++, or Go.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, databases, software testing, and version control.
  • Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
  • Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies preferred.
  • Internship, academic, personal, or open-source software development experience is valuable.

The Associate Software Engineer contributes to the organization’s technology capabilities by developing reliable software and supporting ongoing product improvements. Working alongside experienced engineering professionals, this role provides an opportunity to contribute to production systems while developing deeper expertise in software architecture, development, testing, and cloud technologies.

The position also supports engineering quality through testing, documentation, code reviews, debugging, and adherence to development standards.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Standard Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Flexible collaboration hours may occasionally be required for distributed engineering teams.
  • Frequent virtual collaboration with Software Engineers, Product Managers, QA Engineers, Designers, and technical leadership.
  • Primarily computer-based work using development environments, cloud platforms, project-management systems, and collaboration tools.

Job Function

The Associate Software Engineer supports software design, development, testing, debugging, deployment, maintenance, and technical documentation while working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional product teams.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $95,000 – $145,000 annually, based on technical skills, programming experience, education, portfolio quality, location, and overall qualifications.
