About the Opportunity

We are seeking a technically capable and highly organized Project Engineer to support the planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects from concept through completion. This role will bridge technical engineering requirements with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.

The Project Engineer will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, contractors, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to technical specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects from planning through final delivery.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, designs, calculations, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and technical requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers with project planning, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Identify technical issues, project risks, and potential schedule constraints.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and external engineering partners.
  • Review engineering submittals, technical documentation, and material specifications.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout project execution.
  • Assist with cost estimates, budget tracking, change orders, and project forecasts.
  • Participate in technical meetings and prepare project status reports.
  • Maintain engineering records, drawings, specifications, calculations, and project files.
  • Support testing, commissioning, inspection, and validation activities.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable standards, codes, regulations, and company procedures.
  • Investigate technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes and project delivery.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 3–7 years of professional engineering or project engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects from planning through completion.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, technical documentation, and project execution.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and engineering documentation systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, engineering analysis tools, or project-management platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus.

By identifying technical risks early, coordinating engineering resources, and supporting effective project controls, the Project Engineer contributes to reliable project delivery and long-term operational performance.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Standard Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Flexible hours may occasionally be required to support project milestones or client requirements.
  • Frequent virtual collaboration with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Primarily computer-based technical and project coordination work.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required for site visits, inspections, commissioning, client meetings, or project events.

Job Function

The Project Engineer supports the technical planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of engineering projects while ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, budgets, schedules, and applicable regulations.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package: $125,000 – $195,000 annually, based on engineering experience, technical specialization, project complexity, industry expertise, licensure, and overall qualifications.
