About the Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and influential Director of Communications to lead the organization’s internal and external communications strategy, strengthen brand reputation, and drive executive and corporate messaging across all channels. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing comprehensive communication strategies that support business objectives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and position the organization as an industry leader.
The Director of Communications will collaborate closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Relations, Investor Relations, Legal, Customer Success, Sales, and Product teams to deliver consistent, compelling, and impactful communications. This leader will oversee corporate messaging, executive communications, media relations, crisis communications, employee engagement initiatives, thought leadership, and content strategy while ensuring brand consistency and organizational transparency.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing, storytelling, leadership, and strategic communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide internal and external communications strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead corporate communications, executive messaging, media relations, public relations, and employee communications initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop speeches, presentations, announcements, and leadership communications.
- Build and protect the organization’s brand reputation through strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee crisis communication planning and manage communication strategies during critical business events.
- Develop thought leadership campaigns, executive visibility initiatives, and corporate storytelling programs.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure consistent brand messaging across digital, social media, advertising, and content channels.
- Lead internal communication initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organizational culture.
- Manage media inquiries, press releases, interviews, and relationships with journalists and industry analysts.
- Develop communication policies, editorial standards, messaging frameworks, and content governance processes.
- Monitor communication performance metrics, media coverage, and stakeholder engagement analytics.
- Manage communications budgets, agency relationships, vendors, and external partners.
- Mentor and develop communications professionals while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Ensure all communications comply with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Present communication strategies, campaign performance, and reputation insights to executive leadership.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic communications.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing communications teams.
- Proven experience developing executive communications, corporate messaging, and media relations strategies.
- Strong knowledge of crisis communications, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, and brand communications.
- Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional business teams.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms, social media strategies, content management systems, and media monitoring tools.
- Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and public speaking skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and project management capabilities.

Strategic Support
The Director of Communications serves as a strategic leader responsible for shaping the organization’s voice, protecting its reputation, and strengthening relationships with employees, customers, investors, media, and external stakeholders. This role partners with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Investor Relations, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure communication strategies support organizational priorities and long-term growth.
Through executive communications, brand management, crisis preparedness, media engagement, employee communications, and thought leadership, this position directly contributes to organizational credibility, employee engagement, customer trust, and sustained business success.
Working Conditions
- Fully Remote position within the United States.
- Standard Monday through Friday executive work schedule with flexibility during major announcements or business events.
- Frequent collaboration with executive leadership, media representatives, business partners, and distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Occasional domestic and international travel for executive meetings, media events, conferences, and leadership retreats.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation Package: $260,000 – $375,000 annually, based on leadership experience, communications expertise, organizational complexity, industry background, and overall qualifications.
