We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Support Associate to provide operational and administrative support for tax preparation, compliance, client service, and tax documentation. This role is responsible for assisting tax professionals with processing tax-related information, maintaining accurate records, supporting client inquiries, and ensuring the timely completion of tax operations.

The Tax Support Associate partners with Tax Advisors, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Finance, Legal, Compliance, Client Services, and Operations teams to deliver efficient, accurate, and compliant tax support services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support tax professionals with the preparation and processing of individual, corporate, partnership, and business tax documentation.
  • Review tax forms, financial records, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidential client tax records within secure enterprise systems.
  • Assist with tax return assembly, electronic filing preparation, and document management.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding tax documentation, filing status, and required information.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to obtain financial information supporting tax compliance activities.
  • Monitor filing deadlines and assist in ensuring timely completion of tax engagements.
  • Prepare reports, tracking logs, and operational dashboards for tax management.
  • Assist with IRS, state, and local tax correspondence under management supervision.
  • Support tax research activities and maintain current knowledge of applicable tax regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in tax season planning and workload management initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and client information.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Taxation, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Associate degree with relevant professional experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax support, accounting, bookkeeping, finance operations, or administrative financial services.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax processes and documentation requirements.
  • Experience using tax preparation software such as Thomson Reuters, CCH Axcess, Intuit ProConnect, UltraTax CS, or comparable platforms is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and enterprise financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial documentation, recordkeeping, and compliance procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.

  • Approximately 5–10% domestic travel for training, professional development, and departmental meetings.

Job Function

The Tax Support Associate is responsible for supporting tax preparation, documentation management, client communications, compliance activities, and operational reporting across enterprise tax services. This role works closely with tax professionals, finance teams, and clients to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant tax operations. Success is measured through documentation accuracy, filing timeliness, client satisfaction, operational efficiency, compliance performance, and overall support of the tax organization.


Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package

Base Salary: $214,000 – $276,000 USD annually

Compensation is determined based on tax operations experience, accounting knowledge, technical skills, geographic location, certifications, and overall qualifications.
