We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide variety of passenger vehicles, light trucks, hybrid vehicles, and electric vehicles. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional customer service while supporting operational excellence across our automotive service network.

The Automotive Technician collaborates with Service Advisors, Shop Foremen, Parts Specialists, Warranty Administrators, Quality Assurance, Fleet Operations, and Regional Service Leadership to deliver accurate diagnostics, efficient repairs, and outstanding customer experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair services.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and computer-controlled vehicle systems.
  • Repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, fuel, charging, and drivetrain systems.
  • Service hybrid and electric vehicle components while following manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes, brake service, tire replacement, fluid services, and system inspections.
  • Complete accurate repair documentation, digital inspection reports, and warranty information.
  • Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Service Advisors to explain repair recommendations and customer service requirements.
  • Maintain shop equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Support warranty repairs, recall campaigns, and manufacturer service programs.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training, certification programs, and product education.
  • Mentor apprentice technicians and promote best practices in automotive repair.
  • Stay current with emerging automotive technologies, EV systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical School or Associate degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications strongly preferred.
  • Experience servicing domestic, import, luxury, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of engine performance, electrical systems, diagnostics, suspension, steering, braking, and powertrain repair.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and manufacturer repair software.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, repair procedures, and service bulletins.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
  • Manufacturer certifications (Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Stellantis, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, etc.) are considered an advantage.

Strategic Support

As a member of the Automotive Service Operations organization, the Automotive Technician provides strategic support by:

Working Conditions

  • Remote administrative scheduling with field service or regional service center assignments based on operational needs.
  • Flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Approximately 40–60% travel for mobile fleet support, regional service operations, training, and customer locations where applicable.
  • Company-provided diagnostic equipment, specialized tools, mobile technology, and service vehicle (where applicable).
  • Dynamic work environment requiring standing, lifting, bending, and safe operation of automotive equipment while following OSHA and manufacturer safety guidelines.

Job Function

The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing vehicle performance while ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. Compensation & Benefits

Compensation Package

Base Salary: $226,000 – $294,000 USD annually

Compensation is determined based on technical expertise, ASE certifications, manufacturer training, diagnostic experience, geographic location, and overall qualifications.
