As our organization continues to expand into new markets and regulatory jurisdictions, we are seeking an accomplished Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead our global compliance organization and serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing an enterprise-wide compliance management framework that protects the organization while enabling sustainable growth. This executive will oversee compliance strategy across financial crime prevention, ethics, corporate governance, regulatory affairs, consumer protection, third-party risk management, data privacy, internal investigations, and enterprise compliance monitoring.

This role requires an executive capable of balancing regulatory expectations with business innovation. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with regulators, external auditors, legal counsel, and senior business leaders while fostering a culture where integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making are embedded throughout the organization.

The ideal leader brings extensive experience within highly regulated industries such as banking, fintech, capital markets, payments, insurance, or financial services and possesses a deep understanding of evolving U.S. and international regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization’s enterprise-wide compliance strategy aligned with corporate objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to executive leadership and the Board regarding compliance, ethics, regulatory developments, and enterprise risk.
  • Design, implement, and maintain an effective Compliance Management System (CMS) across all business operations.
  • Lead regulatory compliance programs covering federal, state, and international requirements applicable to financial services and technology operations.
  • Oversee enterprise compliance monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Direct company-wide anti-money laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), sanctions screening, fraud prevention, and financial crime compliance programs.
  • Lead enterprise ethics and corporate conduct initiatives while promoting a culture of integrity and accountability.
  • Develop governance frameworks supporting regulatory reporting, policy management, and internal controls.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, external auditors, independent monitors, and government authorities.
  • Oversee internal compliance investigations involving regulatory concerns, employee misconduct, and potential violations.
  • Provide strategic guidance regarding new products, market expansion, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead enterprise compliance risk assessments and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
  • Establish key compliance metrics and executive reporting dashboards for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Oversee third-party compliance due diligence and vendor risk management programs.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Internal Audit, Information Security, Risk Management, Finance, and Operations to strengthen governance across the organization.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a global compliance organization focused on operational excellence and regulatory readiness.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD), Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive compliance, legal, regulatory, audit, or enterprise risk leadership experience.
  • At least 8 years serving in executive or senior compliance leadership positions.
  • Extensive experience within banking, fintech, digital payments, capital markets, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise with U.S. federal and state financial regulations and global regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, OFAC sanctions, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), anti-bribery regulations, consumer protection, privacy laws, and corporate governance.
  • Experience presenting directly to Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams.
  • Proven success managing regulatory examinations and interactions with government agencies.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CRCM, CAMS, CCEP, CIA, CPA, or equivalent are highly preferred.

Strategic Support

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Compliance Officer provides strategic support by:

  • Advising the CEO and Board on enterprise compliance risks and regulatory developments.
  • Supporting strategic growth initiatives through proactive compliance planning.
  • Evaluating regulatory implications of acquisitions, partnerships, and international expansion.
  • Guiding executive decision-making on governance and corporate ethics.
  • Strengthening enterprise risk management through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Developing long-term compliance strategies that enable innovation while protecting the organization.
  • Supporting investor confidence through strong governance and transparent compliance practices.
  • Enhancing organizational resilience by anticipating emerging regulatory challenges.

Working Conditions

  • Fully Remote position within the United States.
  • Executive leadership role supporting teams across multiple domestic and international time zones.
  • Limited domestic and international travel (approximately 20–30%) for Board meetings, regulatory engagements, leadership summits, and strategic planning sessions.

Compensation & Benefits

Executive Compensation Package

Base Salary: $465,000 – $590,000 USD annually

Compensation is determined based on executive leadership experience, industry expertise, organizational impact, and overall qualifications.
