Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications, APIs, platform services, internal tools, and product features that support enterprise customers and business operations.
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code using modern programming languages, frameworks, cloud services, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, QA, Security, DevOps, and Data teams to understand requirements, clarify technical scope, estimate effort, and deliver reliable solutions.
• Build and improve backend services, frontend experiences, APIs, integrations, data workflows, automation capabilities, or platform components depending on team needs.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, release planning, and engineering retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate defects, analyze logs, identify root causes, implement fixes, and help prevent recurring system problems.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, observability, maintainability, and security through thoughtful engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, unit tests, integration tests, test data, validation logic, and quality checks to support stable product releases.
• Support cloud-based development and deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure awareness, monitoring, logging, and release workflows.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, data exchange processes, event-driven components, and service-to-service communication patterns where applicable.
• Contribute to technical documentation, engineering standards, runbooks, architecture notes, implementation guides, and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Collaborate with Security teams to follow secure coding practices, resolve vulnerabilities, support access control requirements, and protect customer and business data.
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, simplify code, improve developer productivity, automate manual work, and strengthen engineering quality.
• Stay current on modern engineering practices, cloud technologies, AI-enabled development tools, software architecture patterns, security practices, and platform trends.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field required.
• Master’s degree or advanced technical education in software engineering, cloud computing, data systems, artificial intelligence, or distributed systems preferred.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building, testing, deploying, and maintaining production software systems.
• Experience within enterprise SaaS, AI-enabled technology, cloud platforms, fintech, cybersecurity, healthcare technology, digital products, ecommerce, data platforms, or large distributed enterprise environments strongly preferred.
• Strong programming experience with one or more modern languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, C#, Kotlin, Ruby, or similar languages.
• Experience with modern frameworks and platforms such as React, Node.js, Next.js, Angular, Vue, Spring Boot, Django, FastAPI, .NET, GraphQL, REST APIs, or similar technologies preferred.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, serverless services, containers, Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud-native deployment environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, API design, database design, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, or similar systems preferred.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, observability tools, logging platforms, monitoring systems, and agile development practices.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, data protection, input validation, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to work with Product, Design, QA, Security, DevOps, Data, Customer Success, and business stakeholders in a collaborative engineering environment.
